Observations and Notes

Bitter Creek Site #20 is located a little over one mile off of I-80, at the Bitter Creek Road exit.  The terrain here is a flat plain for miles in all directions.  There is a well maintained dirt road to the arrow.  No four wheel drive is needed.
The arrow is located among tall scrub brush several hundred feet from the dirt road.  Without precise gps coordinates, it would be very difficult to locate. There is no path to the arrow, so I had to step around the scrub brush.  Even then I could not see the arrow until I was less than 50 feet away.

The remains of the arrow are in very poor condition.  The only thing remaining of the arrow is the base on which the generator shed stood, and the base where the beacon stood; along with a six foot wide concrete portion that connects the two bases.  The arrow portion itself is completely missing, so it was impossible to determine in which compass heading the arrow pointed.  The generator pad is fairly large, measuring 15 feet in length and 18 feet wide.  The beacon pad is 12 feet wide and 11 feet long.  The three portions still left measure approximately 40 feet.

The pilot would approach the tail of the arrow on a compass heading of 90° (East).
(All measurements and compass headings are approximate).
