The Anthony arrow is located southwest of the Danville Arrow, and just west of the town of Anthony, Kansas at the Anthony Airport.
The arrow is incomplete, and what remains is in fairly good condition. The only part remaining is the base where the beacon stands and the arrow shaft and point. The remaining part is 32 feet in length.
The employees that worked at the airport had no knowledge of the significance of the arrow or beacon. One of the employees volunteered to climb the beacon and photograph the arrow for us. This is the only arrow that we were able to get photographs of from the top of the beacon itself.
The pilot would approach the tail of the arrow on a compass heading of 52° (NE), and then exit the arrow on a compass heading of 52° (NE).
(All measurements and compass headings are approximate).
Due to Federal Regulations no aerial drone photos were taken, as the arrow and beacon were located at an active airport. |
