The El Paso County Colorado beacon site is very close to Air Force Academy property, and is accessible when parking on the NB I-25 on ramp from Interquest
Parkway. It is about a 200 foot walk and the site is accessible.

Described by Coast and Geodetic Survey 1953 (RLE)
The station is located about 10 miles North of Colorado Springs and about 7-1/2 miles south of Monument on the crest of a hill. It is a 4-legged steel structure, painted aluminum with a red top. It has a white light with alternate green flashers to the North and South. The approximate overall height is 40 feet.
The point observed upon was the rotating white light.
To reach the station from the Post Office in Colorado Springs go north on U.S. Highways 85 and 87 For 10.6 miles to the station about 75 feet west of the highway as described.
