The Oklahoma City-Wichita section of the Dallas-Kansas City Airway is lighted by the Department of Commerce with 11 electric 24" beacons of 2,000,000 c.p., rotating at 6 r.p.m. There have also been provided lighted intermediate fields at 3 of the above beacon sites. There are also 16 route beacons along this airway. Along the route are 4 municipal airpots. The electric beacons are mounted on 50' steel towers. Arrows at the base of the towers point along the course to the northerly terminal. Department of Commerce lights burn from dark to dawn, nightly.
