To reach the Wild Range Canyon / Buffalo Valley Arrow we had to drive south on Hwy 305 out of Battle Mtn, Nevada for 11 miles, and then make a right turn onto Copper Basin Rd. There is a street sign at the intersection, so it was easy to find.
From the intersection it’s a 21 mile drive across the desert to the arrow. The first two miles is paved, while the next 18 miles is a hard-pack gravel road. After going 20 miles out, we then had to make a right turn onto a narrow dirt road. It resembled more of a cattle path though than a road.
GPS is a must out here to locate the arrow once you turn off the gravel road.
The Buffalo Valley Arrow is complete and in good condition. The arrow is 57 feet in length.
The pilot would approach the tail of the arrow on a compass heading of 40° (NE), and then exit the arrow on a compass heading of 38° (NE).
